Vinod Kumar Shukla passes away: Renowned Hindi writer and recipient of the Bharatiya Jnanpith Award, Vinod Kumar Shukla, a celebrated literary figure from Chhattisgarh, passed away on Tuesday evening (December 23). He was 89 years old. His son, Shashwat Shukla, confirmed the news on Tuesday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had spoken to Vinod Kumar Shukla on November 1st and inquired about his health. Shukla is survived by his wife, son Shashwat, and a daughter.
Shashwat Shukla told PTI that his father, Shukla, was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Raipur on the 2nd of this month after experiencing breathing difficulties, and he breathed his last there at 4:58 pm today. Shashwat said that Shukla's body will first be taken to his residence. Information regarding his funeral will be released soon.
They said that Shukla was admitted to a private hospital in Raipur in October after experiencing difficulty breathing. He was discharged from the hospital after his condition improved and had been receiving treatment at home since then. They added that on December 2nd, his condition suddenly worsened, and he was taken to AIIMS Raipur, where he was receiving treatment.
